CINCINNATI (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals scored seven runs in the 10th inning last night en route to an 11-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Matt Holliday hit a grand slam and Matt Carpenter added a two-run single in the extra frame. Jay Bruce had two hits and three RBIs for the Reds.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Alex Gordon and Eric Hosmer each had run-scoring singles in the eighth inning yesterday as the Kansas City Royals blanked the Houston Astros 2-0. Aaron Crow worked a scoreless eighth to earn a victory that gave the Royals a five-game winning streak. Astros pitcher Lucas Harrell held Kansas City to two singles in seven shutout innings.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Michael Conforto and Dylan Davis hit back-to-back homers last night to help Oregon State beat Kansas State 12-4 to force a decisive third game in the NCAA super regional series. Tyler Smith and Kavin Keyes each added four hits for the Beavers. Wildcats starter Blake McFadden lasted just 23 pitches and two-thirds of an inning. The deciding game is tonight.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Brett Williams' RBI double in the 17th inning lifted North Carolina State to a 5-4 victory over Rice in the longest super regional game in NCAA history. Tarran Senay drove in the game-tying run in the ninth inning for the Wolfpack. Christian Stringer hit two solo home runs for Rice.
