NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Skylar Diggins scored 27 points yesterday as top-seeded Notre Dame routed No. 12 seed Kansas 93-63 in the semifinals of the Norfolk Regional. The Fighting Irish went on a 16-2 first-half run to take the lead for good. Carolyn Davis scored 25 points for the Jayhawks, who became the second No. 12 seed to get this far in the women's tournament.

PHOENIX (AP) — The St. Louis Cardinals open the regular season on the road tonight against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Adam Wainwright will start for the Cardinals, while Ian Kennedy takes the hill for the Diamondbacks. St. Louis made the playoffs as a wild card last season after finishing second in the NL Central.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Kansas City Royals have added former AL MVP Miguel Tejada to their opening day roster and placed left-hander Danny Duffy on the 15-day disabled list. Tejada last played in the major leagues in 2011 with San Francisco. The Royals open the regular season today against the Chicago White Sox.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita State fans have welcomed home the Final Four-bound Shockers. Ninth-seeded Wichita State upset No. 2 seed Ohio State on Saturday to reach the Final Four for the first time since 1965. About 75 fans showed up for the early morning celebration yesterday, shouting "Good job, coach" and chanting "Final Four! Final Four!"
