(BaseballStL) – On Tuesday, Kolten Wong said he jammed his shoulder late in the game after diving for a ground ball. The second baseman came out of Thursday’s game with some soreness.
Daniel Descalso replaced Wong in the sixth inning. After the game, manager Mike Matheny said the injury did stem from the play on Tuesday.
“He thinks he’s having trouble finishing his swing, so we had to get him out,” he added.
Wong batted three times Thursday, flying out twice and grounding out once. Matheny did not comment on how long they expected Wong to be out.
