ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- Who is the one player Jeff Fisher credits for last week’s barrage of turnovers against the Cardinals? Take a really wild guess.
Backup quarterback Kellen Clemens.
Now of course Janoris Jenkins had two interceptions returned for touchdowns in addition to picks from Craig Dahl and James Laurinaitis, but Fisher says it was all thanks to Clemens.
“We have to keep it up. We credited Kellen (Clemens) because he threw about a dozen picks last week on the practice field, so we gave him the credit,” Fisher said.
The extra confidence Clemens gave the defense last week seemed to help with the interceptions, but the team is still working towards getting more fumbles.
“If you want to look at the turnover thing, we’re still not getting fumbles,” Fisher added. “We were fortunate to come up with the interceptions, but we still need to get on balls and knock them loose.”
Maybe the team needs Clemens to start fumbling the ball during practice.
