(BaseballStL) -- With Wednesday's game in Fort Myers against the Twins rained out, the Cardinals are going to adjust their starting rotation to keep as many people on schedule as possible.

As a result, Adam Wainwright - who was supposed to throw today - will start tomorrow at home with Lance Lynn - who was supposed to start - coming in relief.

Carlos Martinez will still start in Port St. Lucie in the road game of the split squad as originally planned.

For Wainwright, how much of an issue is it getting pushed back?

"It doesn't," Wainwright said. "We'll adjust and do a little something tomorrow, a little lighter, and we'll still get some work in and be ready for five days from now (for my next start)."

The staff ace also says had he thrown a few pitches in the game and then gotten shut down it wouldn't have made a difference.  It's early in spring and it's easy to get back on course.

"At this point it really doesn't matter a whole lot.  If we were talking about throwing five or six innings (it would be compaed to) 30 pitches," Wainwright said.
