(Baseball StL) -- On Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals will happily trot out their ace Adam Wainwright in the season's first series against Central Division foe, Cincinnati Reds.

During the Grapefruit season, Wainwright has pitched more than 15 scoreless innings making manager Mike Matheny's decision to start the Georgia native easy.

"It was a good way to end (spring training)," Wainwright said. "I'm very comfortable working both sides of the plate with several different pitches. I just feel good out there."

On the other side, the Reds new manager Bryan Price will send out Johnny Cueto, who has had to sort through a series of minor injuries, including a tender right shoulder, before being named to his third consecutive Opening Day starting spot. Cueto missed one start this spring because of soreness.

“I can’t imagine how some of the other guys feel but for me I can’t wait,” Kolten Wong said. “It’s been a long time coming and I just want to get out of (Florida) and get to Cincinnati and start getting it going.”

Match-up to Watch: Billy Hamilton vs. Yadier Molina

Missing from the Reds line-up is CF Shin Soo Choo who moved on to the Texas Rangers. Instead Cincy will rely on rookie Billy Hamilton. Look for the match up between speedy Hamilton, who in limited action last season stole 13 bases on 14 attempts, and the Cards star catcher Yadier Molina.

Cincinnati Red projected line-up:

1. Billy Hamilton, CF

2. Brandon Phillips, 2B

3. Joey Votto, 1B

4. Jay Bruce, RF

5. Ryan Ludwick, LF

6. Todd Fraizer, 3B

7. Devin Mesoraco, C

8. Zack Cozart, SS

St. Louis Cardinals projected line-up:

1. Matt Carpenter, 3B

2. Kolten Wong, 2B

3. Matt Holliday, LF

4. Allen Craig, RF

5. Yadier Molina, C

6. Jhonny Peralta, SS

7. Matt Adams, 1B

8. Peter Bourjos, CF

Michael Wacha will start Wednesday against Red left-handed Tony Cigrani. Thursday sees Lance Lynn taking on Homer Bailey.
