ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – The St. Louis Cardinals traded infielder Tyler Greene to the Houston Astros, the team announced early Thursday afternoon.

In exchange, the Cardinals receive a player-to-be-named later or cash considerations.

Greene, 28, batted .218 with four home runs and 19 RBIs in 77 games this season.

Greene started Wednesday night against the San Francisco Giants, going 0-3 with two strikeouts. He also made a costly error in the 6th inning, letting a probable double-play ball to scoot through his legs en route to a 15-0 Giants win.

The Cardinals played with 24 players on their roster for Thursday’s game against San Francisco.
