Three University of Missouri players were named first-team All-Big 12 Tuesday by conference coaches.

Senior LB Sean Weatherspoon, WR Danario Alexander, and sophomore kicker Grant Ressel all received first-team honors.

Weatherspoon, a first-team selection for the second consecutive season and Butkust Award finalist, ranks third in the conference with 101 tackles. Alexander has been one of the most dominant receivers in the country this season, leading the NCAA with his school-record 1,644 receiving yards on 107 catches, with 13 touchdowns. Ressel is one of the most consistent kickers in the country, leading the nation in field goal accuracy at 96 percent. He's connected on 24 of 25 kicks in his first year starting, not to mention a game-winning field goal against rival Kansas.

Breakout freshman DE Aldon Smith won the conference's freshman defensive player of the year honors. Smith leads all freshman in the country in both sacks, with 11, and tackles for loss, having 18.5.
