(FootballStL) -- Former St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson left the game early in the first quarter after scoring on the first possession for the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Jackson was escorted to the locker room following an opening drive touchdown, his first as a Falcon, with a thigh bruise. His return was listed as questionable.
The Falcons scored on a swing pass to Jackson on the Rams eight-yard line to cap an 11-play, 80-yard opening drive score. Rams rookie linebacker Alec Ogletree came up short on the tackle as Jackson reached just inside the goal line for the touchdown.
Jackson rushed for no yards on three carries and caught the one pass prior to being removed from the game.
