(BaseballStL) – The Cardinals and their throngs of fans celebrated St. Louis’ eleventh World Series Championship with a big parade and huge celebration at Busch Stadium.
Mayor Francis Slay awarded Cardinal player David Freese with the key to the city during the Busch Stadium celebration.
The parade began at 4 p.m., at Union Station and headed down Market Street, through downtown and ended at the ballpark.
The Busch Stadium event was completely sold out. Officials say they raised around $200,000 for the Cardinals Care charitable foundation.
A new sign will replace the current sign on the south side of the stadium to include 2011 on the Cardinals' World Series Championship wins.
