DETROIT (BaseballStL) – Skip Schumaker was activated from the DL and will bat eighth against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday.
Schumaker has missed the team’s last 16 games due to a strained hamstring. He was 3-for-8 with two doubles in three games during his rehab stint at Memphis.
Prior to being placed on the DL on May 31, Schumaker had a season-best eight-game hitting streak.
The Cardinals optioned pitcher Maikel Cleto to make room for Schumaker on the active roster.
