(FootballStL) – Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is undergoing knee surgery today to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered three weeks ago in a 30-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Dr. James Andrews, who previously performed shoulder surgery on Bradford during his Oklahoma days, will do the procedure.
Bradford was running toward the sideline in the fourth quarter of the Oct. 20 game when he was pushed out of bounds by safety Mike Mitchell and came up holding his left knee. Team officials confirmed the next day he had torn his ACL.
Team officials say the fourth-year quarterback should be ready to go for the start of the 2014 season.
