(KMOV) – Kirkwood and Webster Groves play this time every year in the Turkey Day Game, for bragging rights. But this year, there is an extra helping of the rivalry.

The rivalry between Kirkwood and Webster Groves dates back to over 100 years.

Friday night’s game could be the biggest game in the long standing series. The schools are not just playing for pride, but for who wins the state championship.

The Kirkwood Pioneers have won seven straight games, while the Webster Groves Statesmen have won 26 consecutive games.

Nearly 15,000 people are expected to be at Friday night’s game in Kirkwood.
