(FootballStL) -- With only minutes to spare until the start of free agency Tuesday, the St. Louis Rams and defensive end William Hayes agreed to a multi-year deal.
The signing was announced on the team’s Twitter account Tuesday afternoon.
Hayes, 27, registered a career-high seven sacks in 16 games played with the Rams last season. He previously played four seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
The Rams defensive line appears to be intact for next season with Robert Quinn, Chris Long and Eugene Sims expected to return to build off a season when the Rams were tied for the league-lead in sacks.
