ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- The Rams are all too familiar with injuries to offensive lineman.  Scott Wells is not.

Wells, who was signed this offseason, was supposed to bring a veteran presence along with skill to protect Sam Bradford.  But like most of the lineman in recent years with the Rams, Wells was nipped by the injury bug.

The Pro Bowl center went down with a broken foot in the season-opener against the Lions which has kept him out since then.

“It was difficult.  I’ve told my wife several times that my make-up is not to watch, I have to participate,” Wells said.  “It’s hard.  It’s hard to sit back and watch.”

Wells has been relatively healthy throughout his nine year career and had not missed a game since 2009.  He admits it was different feeling after breaking his first ‘major‘ bone in his career, but has been able to attend all of the Rams home games this season.

Wells returned to practice this week and the team will now have three weeks to place him on the active roster or place him on the injured reserve.
