COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- The Missouri Tigers are set to face off against the Arizona State University Sun Devils Saturday evening.  Mizzou hopes to bounce back from an ugly 4th quarter last Saturday against Georgia after losing 41-20.

The Sun Devils arrive in Columbia scorching hot after defeating Illinois last Saturday 45-14.  Arizona State is 2-0 on the season and the Tigers don’t want to end up like their geographical rival Illinois last Saturday.

Mizzou is 1-1 on the season and looking to rebound from a loss in their first SEC Conference game.  The Tigers looked strong for the first three quarters and then the training-wheels came off.  Georgia scored 17 points in the 4th quarter and left many fans questioning play call.

FACT: Mizzou had more total offensive yards than Georgia.  Mizzou finished with 371 total yards compared to Georgia’s 355.

Despite outgaining Georgia in total offensive yards, calling a fake punt at the beginning of the 4th quarter with the Tigers only down four points shifted all the momentum. The fake punt failed and Georgia went on to defeating Mizzou in its home stadium.

Who knows what play call errors or smart play calls will come against Arizona State? Many Mizzou fans still have the bitter taste of losing to Arizona State last year.  Mizzou was trailing the entire game and tied the game in the 4th quarter.  Mizzou failed to score in overtime and Mizzou lost the game.

Opposing players to watch:

-#10 Taylor Kelly, quarterback, sophomore: Kelly leads the Sun Devils with 496 passing yards and 2 touchdowns passing.  He’s completing 76.7% of his passes

-#87 Chris Coyle, tight end, junior: Coyle has 12 receptions, 196 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns

*****Arizona State is ranked 7th in the nation in points scored per game.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
