(HockeyStL) -- St. Louis Blues goaltender Ryan Miller won’t play against his former team, Thursday night, but former Buffalo Sabres Captain Steve Ott will have his skates laced up.

It’s been a tale of two different seasons between the Sabres and Blues. The Sabres have just four more wins than the Blues have losses, at 21-45-9 and 51-17-7, respectively. But since coming to the Blues on February 28, Ott has taken advantage of the opportunity to play for a playoff-bound team.

“This is a team that’s built from a lot of depth,” said Ott, “And just to be a part of it – try to help contribute anyway possible, it’s been a lot of fun so far.”

Ott said he and Miller had dinner Wednesday night with some of the Sabres guys.

“There’s a lot of good, close friends that I’ll have for life over there,” Ott said, “But once game on, is game on. I wouldn’t expect any less from them to play me hard and I hope they would expect the same from me.”

In 16 games, however, Ott has yet to score his first goal as a Blue and Thursday night might be the perfect game to record his first goal – against his former team
