(HockeyStL) -- St. Louis Blues forward TJ Oshie left Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild in the second period after taking a high hit from Wild center Mike Rupp.

Rupp hit Oshie with 9:30 left in the second period and after the hit, Oshie immediately fell to the ice and was slow to get up.

Oshie did not return to the game. The extent of his injuries is unclear.

During the game, the Blues were already without their captain, David Backes, who suffered a foot injury and may miss the remaining regular season games.

Rupp was given a 10-minute match penalty for intent to injure. The hit may be reviewed by the NHL Department of Player Safety.

Oshie has 21 goals and 39 assists this season.
