(BaseballStL) --  Some notes as pre game approaches:

Adam Wainwright vs. Pittsburgh this season:

ERA 3.0

7 runs, all earned in 21 innings.

15 hits, 20 Ks, 3 HRs, 6 walks

Vs AJ Burnett:

Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday are both 5-for-15 against Burnett, hitting .357. Kozma is 2-for-5, but will start the day on the bench.

No Cardinal has homered of Burnett in 2013.

On Thursdays

The Cards have four everyday players that hit more than .300 on Thursdays. Two of Matt Adams' homers have come on Thursdays, as well as two of Matt Holliday's. Holliday has 11 RBIs on Friday eve, as well.

Pitchers hit well for the Cardinals on Thursdays, with Maness, Miller, Kelly and Wacha all notching hits. Miller has a home run and an RBI on two hits for a slugging percentage of 1.250. Possible pinch hitter? (just kidding).

Carpenter in St. Louis

Everyone knows the Cards hit better at home, but no one does it better than Matt Carpenter.

Posting a .360/.432/.540 slash line, he leads the Cardinal offense at Busch. He has belted six of his home runs, 30 of his doubles and four of his triples at home, making up more than half of those totals.
