JUPITER, Fla. (Baseball StL) - As the Cardinals await word on the status of Rafael Furcal’s right elbow, they will move forward with Pete Kozma at shortstop.

Kozma will start at shortstop for the second straight game since news broke that Furcal had been shut down since suffering a setback on his recovery from a partially torn ligament in his right elbow.

Cards’ Manager Mike Matheny said Ronny Cedeno will also get time at shortstop this spring but with what Kozma did for the Cardinals last September and October, he would seem to be the favorite to open the season as the everyday shortstop.

Lance Lynn will make his second spring start for the Cardinals but all eyes will be on prospect Michael Wacha, who is scheduled to pitch for the third time this spring and has been very impressive so far.

The full Cardinals lineup for their 12:05 CT start at Roger Dean Stadium against the Minnesota Twins:
Jon Jay, CF
Daniel Descalso, 2B
Matt Holliday, LF
Allen Craig, DH
David Freese, 3B
Oscar Taveras, RF
Ty Wigginton, 1B
