(Missouri Football App) -- The hype surrounding the Mizzou game is significant but for good reason. This is a big deal. Joining the premiere football conference in the country is a reward for Gary Pinkel. Ten years ago, the SEC would have laughed in Mizzou's face and said no thanks. But Pinkel has put Mizzou on the national landscape. No, Mizzou is not a national championship contender but the program is respected. Pinkel has consistently put a winning product on the field. That made Mizzou attractive to the SEC.

Despite the hype, I don't think the pressure is on Mizzou. I think it's on Georgia. The Bulldogs have to justify their number seven national ranking and uphold SEC tradition and dominance. A loss to Mizzou in the Tigers' first conference game will have Georgia and SEC fans grumbling. Mizzou has nothing to lose Saturday night. That makes them dangerous.
