COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- Saturday will mark the 101st Mizzou Homecoming celebration since the school created the tradition in 1911. Every year, Tigers fans from around the world flock to Columbia, Missouri to see their Tiger football team play the Homecoming game.
Mizzou will play Kentucky on Saturday morning. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. and is just one of the many festivities going on during the weekend.
The weekend kicks off on Friday for the traditional House Decorations event around Mizzou’s Greek Town. Fraternities and Sororities have prepared mini-plays for kids and families to walk around and enjoy. Families walk around from house to house and hear Homecoming-themed stories with nicely prepared backdrops. House Decorations begins at 6 p.m. on Friday.
The traditional Homecoming Parade begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Many organizations around campus have prepared floats to be driven around Mizzou’s campus for the parade.
The big event takes place at 11 a.m. Mizzou plays Kentucky in the Homecoming football game. Mizzou looks to get it’s first ever conference victory as a member of the Southeastern Conference.
The rest of the weekend consists of tailgating, walking around campus and reconnecting with friends.
