(KMOV.com)- NBA playoff contending Utah Jazz purchased the contract of St. Louis native Blake Ahearn out of the NBA Developmental League.

Ahearn graduated from DeSmet and played with the Missouri State Bears from 2003-2007 where he set single-season records at Missouri State with 60 consecutive made free-throws and single-season free-throw percentage.  He also holds the Missouri State record for career three pointers with 276.

Ahearn led the Developmental League in scoring with 24 points per game, and also shot a league high 96 percent from the free-throw line.

Previously a member of the San Antonio Spurs D-League roster, Ahearn will just miss the opportunity to play his former team tonight as the Jazz look to pull within a game of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.  He will meet up with the team in Houston prior to their road game against the Rockets on Wednesday night.
