(BaseballStL) -- The radar does not look very promising here at Hammond Stadium today for the Cardinals next Grapefruit League matchup. Rain is in the area and is forcing manager Mike Matheny to consider possible backup plans in case the game gets washed out.

Chief among the problems is what to do with Adam Wainwright. If it looks like the game will be delayed shortly after it starts they could potentially hold him back so he doesn't throw a few pitches and then be forced to sit down for a long period of time. One option is just to have him throw a simulated game to hitters in the cage.

Check Baseball STL and KMOV.com for weather updates on this Cardinals/Twins game throughout the morning.

Here's the current lineup barring no changes:

1) Matt Carpenter - 3B

2) Kolten Wong - 2B

3) Joey Butler - DH

4) Matt Adams - 1B

5) Shane Robinson - CF

6) Randal Grichuk - LF

7) Stephen Piscotty - RF

8) Tony Cruz - C

9) Pete Kozma - SS

Wainwright is making his Grapefruit League debut for 2014 and will be followed by a group consisting of Kevin Siegrist, Seth Maness and Tim Cooney among others.
