(BaseballStL) -- Tuesday's starter Mat Latos is a St. Louis nightmare in 2013. He's kept the Cardinals to a .230 average so far in 79 plateHe's beat them twice and has an ERA of 1.42 and a WHIP of 1.1.
Worse still, they hit .200 at home against him this year.Latos has only gotten stingier in August. In 30.1 innings he has an ERA and a WHIP of .89.
He's allowed three runs all month, walked six and struck out 24 of 118 batters.Somehow he lost a game, going 3-1 so far.
He's gone at least seven innings in each start, and gone eight twice.
Latos will face a surging pair of hitters in Jay and Holliday, both of whom have traditionally hit him well. Despite this season's troubles with Latos, three hitters on the Cardinal roster hit more than .300 against him and Jay and Molina are north of .400.
