ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- It isn’t known whether Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins will start on Sunday, but it should be noted that he was back with the team on the practice field on Wednesday for the preparations against the Jets.
“Oh yeah, it felt pretty good. It’s always good to be out there with your boys, just going to war with your teammates and the guys you have to depend on each and every week,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins met with reporters following practice for the first time since he was benched for violating a team rule last week.
“I take full responsibility for that,” Jenkins confessed. “It won’t happen no more. I’m just looking forward to moving forward.”
Jenkins, who has started in each of the first eight games this season, was a surprise on the team’s inactive list when it was announced hours prior to a crucial game against the division-rival 49ers.
The rookie cornerback has since talked it over with the coaching staff and his teammates, but head coach Jeff Fisher would only state that Jenkins, along with Chris Givens, will play this Sunday. It hasn’t been stated how much each player will play against the Jets.
“Obviously, those are two of our key guys and when they are not in the lineup, we are not as good as we could be,” Sam Bradford said. “It’s important for those guys to be on the field. They have helped us all year.”
While Bradford said the situation is not going to be an issue, Jenkins admitted that some of his teammates were upset over it.
“Some were upset, but that is part of football, because I should not have made that mistake,” Jenkins said. “Some told me to keep my head up and just continue, you know just stay focus. I did something minor that happened, just continue to get better.”
