(HockeySTL) - - Blues goaltender Jake Allen has been re-assigned to the Peoria Rivermen, the team announced Thursday morning.

Allen, 22, started in four consecutive games for the Blues, posting a 3-1-0 record. The young net minder was called up to back up Brian Elliott, who took over the starting goaltender role while Jaroslav Halak was sidelined with a groin injury. Elliott’s play was inadequate, and Allen was given an opportunity to stop the bleeding.

Allen led the Blues to three consecutive wins on the road against Detroit, Calgary, and Vancouver. He posted a .895 save percentage, stopping 102 of the 114 shots he faced.

During his most recent recall, Allen became the first Blues rookie since Reinhard Divis (2002-2004) to win each of his first three NHL decisions.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound goaltender was drafted by the Blues in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Since being drafted, Allen has appeared in only five games with the Blues.
