(HockeyStL) -- The St. Louis Blues officially signed forward Derek Roy to a one-year contract on Thursday. The deal, which was announced last week, was pending a physical.
Roy posted 28 points, including seven goals, in 42 games played for the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks last season. He spent his first eight seasons with the Buffalo Sabres, the team which selected him 32nd overall in the 2001 NHL draft.
The 30-year-old posted 455 points, including 168 goals, over 591 games played in nine seasons in the NHL.
He joins Magnus Paajarvi, Maxim Lapierre and Keith Aucoin as the newest Blues forwards.
