JUPITER, Fla. -- After Carlos Martinez held serve, so to speak, by pitching beautifully in his most recent start Joe Kelly takes the mound today looking to match that effort.  The battle for the Cardinals fifth and final starting rotation spot enters its final week here in Jupiter, Florida.

Kelly's overall spring numbers aren't good (7.71 ERA in over nine innings) but his most recent start was fantastic.  The 25-year old went 5.1 innings against the Braves in Orlando on the 15th and surrendered just a single run on four hits.  He also went 3-3 at the plate.

It's unclear when Mike Matheny will announce who his fifth starter will be.  But it's unlikely going to be after today's game as the coaching staff will need time to evaluate its options.

Here's the rest of the lineup as Jeff Luhnow's Astros come to town:

1) Matt Carpenter - 3B

2) Kolten Wong - 2B

3) Matt Holliday - LF

4) Allen Craig - RF

5) Yadier Molina - C

6) Matt Adams - 1B

7) Jhonny Peralta - SS

8) Jon Jay - CF

9) Joe Kelly - P

Scheduled to follow Kelly: Kevin Siegrist, Pat Neshek, Trevor Rosenthal, Jorge Rondon, Scott McGregor
