LONDON (FootballStL) – Before he was drafted by the Rams and before he earned a scholarship to Oregon State University, running back Steven Jackson was making a name for himself at Eldorado High School.

While playing football at Eldorado, Jackson rushed for 6,396 yards with 81 touchdowns.  He has since been honored by his alma mater with renaming the high school’s football field “Steven R. Jackson Field.”

“It’s pretty overwhelming.  Actually, with the bye week coming up, I am going to go and visit the field,” Jackson said.  “That is kind of where it all started. I am overwhelmed.  I kind of teared up last night when I heard about the news that they decided to name the field after me.  Just amazing, just a testament to how blessed I am.”

As a member of the Rams, Jackson has rushed for 9,473 yards and scored a total of 61 touchdowns in nine seasons.
