(FootballStL) -- The situation was set for drama to hit Rams Park this offseason. That’s not going to happen, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.
It was reported that Rodger Saffold, a left tackle, was dissatisfied with making a move to the right side after the team signed left tackle Jake Long in March. At the time, communication was broken between the two sides.
“We’ve been trying to reach Rodger and he’s not returning calls right now,” Fisher said last month. “But we’ll get things settled, and Rodger is a big part of our future and a big part of our plans on offense.”
No trade was ever requested from Saffold, who attended the offseason workout program last week, and it appears all is good between the two sides.
“No issues. He’s having fun, working out, in really good shape,” Fisher said at Monday’s pre-draft press conference. “We started our offseason program a week ago today with 100 percent attendance, which was impressive.”
This could be a great sign for the Rams, in particular Sam Bradford, with almost the offensive line almost complete for next season. A piece could be added at the guard position during this week’s draft.
