(Football StL) – Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar has been suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

The NFL announced the suspension Wednesday. Dunbar is allowed to participate in preseason practices and games, but can't rejoin the team until Sep. 27, one day after the Rams play the San Francisco 49ers.

Veteran Will Witherspoon is one possible replacement for Dunbar. Witherspoon signed with the team in July. He previously played in St. Louis from 2006-2009.
