(BasebalLSTL) -- If any team in baseball should know never to celebrate too early, it’s the St. Louis Cardinals.  Remember it was just a year ago when they were in a very similar position, up 3-1 against the Giants, before blowing the series and losing in seven games.

So now that they’re up 2-0 over the Dodgers in the 2013 NLCS they know this thing is far from being over.

“Nobody’s counting any of that stuff.  We’re only halfway there,” Randy Choate said. “We still have two more and now we’re going to a hostile environment in LA.  I played there last year and those fans can get loud and get crazy.  It’s a whole different ballgame at someone else’s field.”

But still, they realize taking Games 1 and 2 from the Dodgers’ top pitchers Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw is a huge accomplishment.

“It feels great,” Carlos Beltran said. “To be able to take these first two games of the series really means a lot. Now we need to continue to win. L.A. is going to be tough. The crowd over there is just really into it and it’s going to be tight so it’s going to be fun.”

“It’s the same no matter what, just try to win every game and hopefully not get it back here, you want to try and put them away. You just take it one game at a time. It’s nice to have Adam (Wainwright) going. Hopefully he can have continued success,” Choate said.

Adam Wainwright will be on the mound Monday night in Los Angeles trying to pitch the Cardinals to a commanding 3-0 series lead.
