PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Since the start of spring the Cardinals have gone with a six-man rotation.  Adam Wainwright, Shelby Miller, Michael Wacha, Lance Lynn, Carlos Martinez and Joe Kelly have all gotten multiple turns to pitch.

The first four are locked into starting jobs.  The last two are competing for one.  But manager Mike Matheny isn't planning on making a decision anytime soon.

"For a good while still.  We're not down to crunch time.  We'll still go with what we're doing and we believe we have six guys we'd like to get ready to start," Matheny said.

Martinez makes his third start of spring after pitching three terrific innings here in Port St. Lucie last week.  He was lights out in the 8th inning for the 2013 postseason but has multiple pitches that project as a starter.

"If [Carlos] continues to keep getting people out he's going to make it very interesting," Matheny said.
