HOUSTON (BaseballStL) – There is no definitive timetable for third baseman David Freese to return after rolling his ankle in an indoor batting cage on Monday, but it will likely come this weekend at the earliest.

Freese told Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com that he does not expect to play during the rest of the Astros series, which concludes on Wednesday.

The Cardinals have a scheduled off day on Thursday which will give Freese’s ankle more time to heal before a possible return this weekend at home against the Nationals.
