PHOENIX (FootballStL) -- It has been an offensive struggle to say the least in Arizona this season and much of that is due to lack of having a consistent quarterback.

The team started John Skelton at quarterback to begin the season, but he went down in the first game with an ankle injury.  Kevin Kolb then became the team’s starting quarterback until he suffered a painful rib injury which has kept him out since Week 6.

Skelton then re-entered as the team’s quarterback, but has played poorly and was replaced last week by rookie Ryan Lindley.  It has been a struggle for even the most die-hard football fan to keep up with the quarterback mess in Arizona.

So who will start this Sunday against the Rams?

“We haven’t announced anything yet,” Ken Whisenhunt said prior to Wednesday’s practice.  “I’m sure that we will at the appropriate time.  I don’t think it’s going to drag out, but nothing to add to that right now.”

To be honest, I don’t think Whisenhunt wants to start Skelton or Lindley.  The Cardinals managed to lose last week to the Falcons after Matt Ryan threw five interceptions mainly because the offense was non-existent.

Skelton completed two passes in nine attempts for a whopping total of six yards.  Lindley completed nine passes in 20 attempts for 64 yards.

Whisenhunt admits that the team is still trying to find the guy for the job.  He granted that job to Lindley hours after telling the St. Louis media he had yet to decide.

“It’s the most important position on the field I think and that’s where it’s important that you can get a guy that can handle that.”

This sounds like the perfect team for Tim Tebow.
