(BaseballStL) -- Add Wednesday night to the recent list of delayed or postponed St. Louis Cardinals games.
For the third time since May 30, the Cardinals players didn’t take to the field on time due to Mother Nature’s other idea.
The recent wave of rough weather began last Thursday when the Cardinals and Kansas City Royals waited out five hours and 32 minutes of delays before resuming play shortly after 3 a.m. on Friday. Almost 15 hours later, strong storms ripped through the St. Louis area and postponed Friday night’s series opening tilt with the San Francisco Giants.
And then again on Wednesday. The grounds crew covered the field shortly at 6 p.m. and before showers moved over Busch Stadium.
The start time was scheduled for 7:15 p.m., but the first pitch wasn’t thrown until 8:01 p.m.
