(HockeyStL) -- Vladimir Tarasenko was escorted to the locker room with trainers at his side after taking a hard hit in the third period Wednesday.

It appeared Tarasenko was caught by surprise when he was hit by Avalanche forward Mark Olver in the offensive zone midway through the period.

Tarasenko laid on the ice until a trainer was able to walk him off. He held a towel near his mouth before heading into the locker room. He did not return to the game.

No penalty was called on the play.  Watch the hit

Does the hit Tarasenko took in Denver make him tougher or timid? Share your thoughts.
