(HockeyStL) -- St. Louis Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo scored and had an assist in his 200th NHL game played on Thursday.
Pietrangelo has lived up to the expectation of a promising young star after becoming the youngest player in club history to post back-to-back forty point seasons. In 2011-12, Pietrangelo bested his previous career-high of 43 points with 51 points in 81 games played.
The 23-year-old defenseman has posted 16 points (five goals, eleven assists) in 23 games played this season.
The Blues selected Pietrangelo with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft.
