(KMOV.com) -- The Saint Louis University Billikens received a higher seed than expected Sunday when they were announced as a number 5 in the 2014 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
The Billikens were placed in the Midwest Regional and their first game will be played Thursday in Orlando. They will play the winner of Tuesday night’s play-in game between North Carolina State and Xavier.
"Obviously the play-in game has a different flavor than 10 years ago," said Billikens Head Coach Jim Crews, "Not having the two days to prepare makes it interesting. Now you don't know who you're playing until the night before."
Despite their regional draw and seed, numerous players said they don't think their seeding matters, but they're just honored to be playing in the tournament.
"If you're in this NCAA Tournament you deserve to be there," said senior Dwayne Evans, "We'll play whoever wants to play."
Undefeated Wichita State is the number one seed in the Midwest Regional.
"The good news is that we still have a chance, some teams lose and that's the end," senior Jake Barnett said, "We still know going forward that we have a chance to win the tournament."
