(BaseballStL) – An awkward swing is being blamed for soreness in Cards’ slugger Lance Berkman’s right hand.

The tweak to his hand kept him out of the lineup Sunday in Milwaukee, but couldn’t keep him from starting against the Reds on Monday.

Berkman feels at home at Great American Ball Park where he has 23 home runs, the most by any visiting player.

On Monday night Berkman had one hit in three at bats and scored two runs in the 7-1 rout of the division rivals.
