ST. LOUIS (BaseballStL) -- Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran was taken to the emergency room following a 1-0 victory against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night.

According to the Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold, Beltran was taken to the ER after dealing with persistent stomach pain and virus.  He has since been treated and released from the hospital.  The right fielder will not start Thursday's game, but may be available to pinch-hit.

Beltran has been on a tear this homestand batting 10-for-19 with three home runs and is currently on a seven-game hitting streak.  His solo home run was the deciding run in Wednesday's victory.

This season, Beltran is batting .298 with 19 home runs and 47 RBIs in 61 games.
