COLUMBIA, Mo. (Missouri Football App) -- The Missouri Tigers football season ended sooner than many would have hoped for, which gets many people already excited for the 2013 season.  Senior running back Kendial Lawrence had an exceptional year for the Tigers, starting every game for the offense this season.  With Lawrence graduating, there remains a hole at starting running back for 2013.

Re-enter: Henry Josey.

Josey was the main running back in the 2011 season until a brutal injury kept him out for the last three games of 2011 and all 12 games in 2012.  Despite the devastating injury, Josey earned the 2011 1st-Team All-Big 12 honors even with his shortened-season.  Josey suffered a severe knee injury, but Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel says he can’t wait to see him back on the field.

“I marvel at the kid,” said Pinkel.  “There’s always a smile on his face.  He works so hard and I hope he can get back to the level he was playing at.  It gives me chills to talk about seeing him hopefully ready for spring football.”

In the 10 games Josey played in 2011, he had 1,168 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, including 263 rushing yards against Western Illinois.  Sophomore Marcus Murphy and freshman Russell Hansbrough both had impacts for the Tigers in 2012.  Both would like to make some noise in 2013 too.
