FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – News 4 is learning more about the contracts Ferguson signed with two PR firms in the aftermath of the Michael Brown, Jr. shooting.

The city signed a contract with the Devin James Group and Common Ground Public Relations. The Devin James group hoped to build strong support among the community. The duty of Common Ground Public relations was to manage the flow of information and media inquiries after police released a video allegedly showing Brown robbing a store shortly before he was shot.

Both companies are being paid only based on the services they provided. It is up to each company to bill the city for the work it performed. Under the contract, Common Ground Public Relation’s fee cannot exceed $6500. The city can also terminate service at any time with a two day written notice.
