FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The St. Louis County Medical Examiner released a portion of the results of the autopsy of Michael Brown which show he suffered two gunshot wounds that could have been fatal.
Dr. Mary Case, the St. Louis County Medical Examiner, said Brown suffered gunshot wounds to his head and chest. Case did not say which shot killed Brown, but said either had the capability to do so. Case did not release any other autopsy results.
Case’s results were released hours after a news conference from the Brown family where they released their own independent, preliminary autopsy report. The report released by the Brown family says Brown was shot at least six times.
A third autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the FBI for the federal investigation into Brown’s death.
Brown was unarmed when he was shot and killed by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson on August 9.
