ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOV.com) – Rioting and looting overnight in Ferguson forced an area school and court to close Monday.

The Jennings School District said unsafe conditions within North County forced the first day of school to be delayed until Tuesday.

The Normandy Courts were also canceled Monday night due to talk of a protest and vigil in Normandy.

The closures come after a night of rioting and looting in the area following an officer-involved shooting which killed 18-year-old Michael Brown.
