DELLWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Following another tense night in north St. Louis County,  Dellwood Mayor Reggie Jones said the looting of businesses in Dellwood was “my biggest fear.”

Jones said he believes the reason Dellwood was looted was because police continued to push protesters up West Florissant. He also said it was “inevitable that they [looters] were going to come to Dellwood.”

Jones also went on to say that his number one priority is to take care of the residents of Dellwood, calling Sunday night “unacceptable” and he and his residents “are not going to tolerate the backlash of what is going on.”

He also voiced concern with Governor Nixon’s curfew boundaries stating they were confusing and looters knew Dellwood was not covered by the curfew.

“I have to protect my people in my town,” Jones said. “We cannot sit back and allow people to destroy our benefits and allow them to leave.”
