FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The family of Mike Brown, Jr. spoke publicly at a press conference Monday afternoon.
The family hired Benjamin Crump to serve as the family’s attorney. Crump represented the family of Trayvon Martin.
Crump said the shooting is another example of a death of a young man of color at hands of police. Crump also said it is about getting justice for Brown and not about getting angry.
“In broad daylight, he had his tee shirt and his sandals, just walking with his friend and minding his own business and in broad daylight where it’s clear he has no weapon,” Crump said at a news conference.
Crump and the NAACP have asked the US Justice Department to investigate the shooting.
