A former Metro East attorney sentenced to 12 years in federal prison on charges linked to his attempts to blackmail his former wife now knows where he'll start doing his time.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons says 63-year-old Gary Peel has been assigned to a low-security prison in Ashland, Kentucky.
Peel was sentenced in November after being convicted of bankruptcy fraud, obstructing justice and possessing child pornography.
Prosecutors say he had an affair with his teenage sister-in-law in 1974, then tried to use sexually explicit photos of her to pressure her sister into dropping her financial demands during their 2003 divorce.
Peel filed for bankruptcy in 2005.
He says he thought his sister-in-law was 18 when the pictures were taken.
