ST. LOUIS (KMOV)- Sauce Magazine's Catherine Neville takes us to a local institution that's paradise for your sweet tooth paradise.
Catherine shows us how they make some of their top treats in this week's Sauce on the Street.
Tim Brennan launched Cravings Gourmet Desserts 25 years ago, offering dessert lovers complex-yet-traditional pastries. Brennan's approach assures that his creations have layers of flavor and texture.
Treats range from mocha cookies and gingersnaps to old fashioned layer cakes.
One of my favorites is the hazelnut zucotto, where creamy cappuccino and white chocolate mousses are surrounded by chocolate and hazelnut.
Cravings is a pastry shop, yes, but it also has a savory side. Serving lunch during the week and dinner on the weekend, Chef Jason Henry cooks approachable American fare that primes the palate for dessert. Try the wild mushroom tart or the cioppino, where seafood mingles with cous cous in a savory broth.
